Customer Review: Not easy to disassemble for cleaning

I bought these shears as a Christmas gift for my parents, who'd mentioned that they'd like a pair that easily came apart for cleaning. Many kitchen shears I saw online were not advertised to have such a feature. The only ones I found were these and the Wusthof ones for $75. We'd receive those as a wedding gift and they come apart super easily (you just twist to align the blades in a certain way and they come right apart, and you put them back just as easily), although I haven't been overly impressed by them other than that (they easily rust if you don't dry them immediately after washing). Given my so-so opinion of the Wusthofs and their hefty price tag I opted for the Rosles. I was disappointed when they arrived. Under "product features" on the Amazon site it says "The shears can be easily taken apart for cleaning or sharpening" but you actually need a screwdriver to take them apart. I expect it is not hard to get them apart with such a tool but I don't think that is feasible for cleaning every time. I guess their interpretation of "easily" is different than mine. In any case, I still gave the shears to my parents (with an apology about the lack of ease in disassembly). My parents said they still liked them (not sure how much of that was to be nice or was genuine!). I never tested the shears myself before I gave them as a gift so I can't speak to their function as shears, but they looked reasonable in that regard. One other thing I was unimpressed by was the state of the packaging they arrived in (in a ratty-looking bubble mailing envelope with no product information or any other sort of packaging), as well as the fact that there was a bar code sticker on one blade that seemed like it had been on there for several decades because the glue was cemented onto the blade and I had to scrub it quite hard to get the sticker off. Anyway, I had high hopes for these shears based on the advertised features and photo--they definitely didn't live up but are probably still functional. Thus, the 3 star rating.
